The two currencies at a glance
Stake.us gives you two separate balances, shown side by side at the top of the screen. You switch between them depending on how you want to play. One is purely for fun; the other is the one that can lead to prizes.

Gold Coins (GC)
Gold Coins are the standard play currency and have no monetary value. They exist so you can enjoy the games for fun without spending anything. You get a stack for free when you sign up, you can top up through optional coin packages, and you can play virtually every game in Gold Coin mode. You can't redeem Gold Coins for anything — they're entertainment only.
Stake Cash (SC)
Stake Cash is the currency that matters if you're hoping to win prizes. You play games in "promotional play" mode using SC, and eligible Stake Cash can be redeemed for prizes such as cryptocurrency or gift cards. On its own SC has no value, but when redeemed as a cash prize the rate is roughly 1 SC to 1 USD. Crucially, you cannot buy Stake Cash directly — it only comes for free, though it's frequently included as a bonus when you purchase a Gold Coin package.
How to get free Stake Cash
Because you can't buy it outright, knowing the free channels is the key to getting the most out of Stake.us:

Redemption requirements
Before you can redeem, three things need to be true. These protect the sweepstakes model and are standard across the industry:
- 3x playthrough. Stake Cash received from a bonus or promotion must be played through three times before it's eligible. For example, 10 SC of bonus funds means wagering 30 SC in total first. It's a bit higher than some rivals, but the huge library makes it easy to clear.
- Identity verification (KYC). You'll verify your age, identity and location before any redemption is approved.
- Minimum balance. Thresholds depend on the method — gift card redemptions start lower (around 10 SC) while cryptocurrency typically needs more (roughly 45–50 SC, depending on the coin).
How to redeem Stake Cash, step by step
- Play through any bonus Stake Cash 3 times so it becomes eligible.
- Complete KYC verification in your account settings if you haven't already.
- Check you have enough eligible SC for your chosen payout method.
- Open your wallet and select Redeem.
- Choose cryptocurrency (e.g. Bitcoin, Litecoin) or a digital gift card, enter the amount, and confirm.
- Wait for processing — crypto is usually quick, while some methods can take up to a couple of days.
